Our Story: In 2007, Thor Wickstrom leased an unfinished 2,500 square foot industrial loft in the Historic Beaver Mill in North Adams. With a lot of sweat and a little help, he soon upgraded it for use as a painting studio. In 2008, Thor and Jaye Fox met as members of the North Adams Artists Co-op, and discovered that they had both studied at the Art Students League of New York, albeit a decade apart, and had several surprising common connections. The two began dating some time later. studio21south held its inaugural show in October, 2009. "Inside/Out", the first show of the 2011 season, was our sixth exhibit. Thor and Jaye welcomed their first child, Irene, on September 2, 2011.
