Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

What kind of a Snow Show would we be if we let a little white stuff stop us?  We'll be open regular hours this weekend, Friday 6-9, Sat. & Sun. 12-4.  If those times don't work, shoot us an e-mail or give a call, we're around, and happy to welcome you at your convenience.

Familiar views sometimes suggest a graphic idea which begs to be painted.  These landscapes demonstrate how painterly interpretation and composition can add depth and emotional resonance beyond what one can expect from a literal depiction or photograph.

Snow Show hours

If you haven't made it by yet, The Snow Show will be up through March 14th, open Saturday and Sunday from noon-4, and also Friday night "cocktail hours" from 6-9pm.  If those don't work for you, we're happy to arrange an appointment, or you can just stop by if you're in the area and take your chances.

Opening night!

Most of the artists were on hand, including John Leavey, Karen Kane, Rodney Wilkinson (who's  also the man-behind-the-camera for these pix.  Thanks, Rodney!) and Karen Walter  Franks Bruckmann and Curran got an excused absence, since they're off painting on Monhegan.  We're jealous, but warm.

SNOW SHOW: Featured Artist: Sylvie Kantorovitz

We are pleased to feature several fine abstractions by Albany-based artist Sylvie Kantorovitz.  Each of these bold, large-scale images are formed from an intricate pattern of marks, shapes, and strokes.  By turn humorous and contemplative, these thoughtful paintings comprise a body of work that is coherent and consistent, yet which never seems static or stale.
